Support Knows No Age: How Every Generation is Helping Lyric’s Loft

One of the most beautiful aspects of Lyric’s Loft is seeing how people of all ages come together to support the cause. From young children donating clothes they’ve outgrown to community groups hosting drives, the generosity knows no bounds. But one of the most heartwarming contributions I’ve received came from someone very close to me—my own Memere.

When I visited her in New Hampshire this past January, she had a bag of gently used socks ready for me to bring back to Lyric’s Loft. She had taken the time to collect them specifically for the kiddos we serve, ensuring they would go to families in need. It was such a small but meaningful gesture, and it reminded me just how far our mission reaches.

What makes this even more special is that my Memere grew up in a time when autism wasn’t widely understood, and ABA therapy certainly didn’t exist. Yet, through my work with Lyric’s Loft, I’ve had the opportunity to educate her about autism, behavioral therapy, and the importance of early intervention. She listens intently when I share stories about the families we help, asks thoughtful questions, and has even started passing along her newfound knowledge to her friends at her weekly bingo games.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I started Lyric’s Loft. Raising awareness and creating a more inclusive world doesn’t just benefit the next generation—it resonates across all ages. Seeing my Memere not only support our mission but also become an advocate in her own way is truly inspiring.

Lyric’s Loft is more than just a nonprofit; it’s a movement that brings people together, whether they’re young, old, or somewhere in between. And with every donation, every conversation, and every shared piece of knowledge, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community—one that I’m incredibly proud to be a part of.
